Answer: Roychowdhury (2012) in her research work named Communication for Employment: The Hobbies Section has stated that at the time of preparing the Curriculum Vitae, the portion stating hobbies are often neglected. Either this is worded incorrectly without the specific purpose or might are worded in the run-of-the-mill-style without attention towards details. Apart from that, it can be stated that the same things takes into place at the time of face to face interview. However, it can be seen that the candidates take strong preparation for interview on current affairs and many other things related to the job position, but they spend hardly any time on thus section. Therefore, it can be stated that this research work has tried to shed light on how this section can be leveraged in the best possible way in order to enhance the opportunity of the recruitment procedure. Roychowdhury (2012) has stated that a candidate must know what the recruiters read between the lines and at the same time, it is required to remember that the CV is a marketing instrument. It can be stated that in most of the interviews, the interviewer asks the interviewee to explain something about him or her and this is considered as the ice breaking question. In this section, hobbies of the interviewee are required to shed light on. In the interview board, especially the HR tries to analyze the candidate as a person and focusing on hobbies help to explore some different parts of the candidate, which is highly essential. However, it can be stated that like all other interview questions, the major purpose of asking about the hobbies are to test the ability to listen, eloquent and understand. Therefore, it can be stated that these personal questions are extremely useful, as they are not based any kind of memory but are lived. It can be stated that not only passion and involvement, but talking about the hobbies tends to bring out the best skills of the candidates at the time of communication. At the time of explaining personal interests and hobbies, voice inflection along with intonation comes out naturally at the time when talking about the passions and this helps the interviewer to analyze the personal sheds of the interviewee (Roychowdhury 2012). It is required to mention that most of the interviewees list reading story books and listening to music in the CV as their hobbies. However, it can be stated that mentioning these points as hobbies considered as a double-edged sword, as most people read books and listen music. Therefore, to avoid this kind of situation rather pitfall, an interviewee must follow a two-prolonged approach. One point states that the hobby must be genuine and secondly, the candidate must a conscious effort to learn the basics of the mentioned hobby. Therefore, it can be stated that the focusing on the description mentioned in the CV plays one of the significant roles and thus this part is required to focus on. Roychowdhury (2012) has concluded that when a candidate omits to mention hobbies carelessly, the candidate fails to reveal his or her entire potential to the recruiter.
